Ethan Saunders-Wilks

Every now and then a young athlete appears who shows that rare blend of raw ability, commitment, and maturity beyond their years. Ethan is one of them. A driver who refuses to settle for “good” and pushes relentlessly toward “great.”

From his earliest laps, starting at Brentwood Karting Track, Ethan has stood out. His pace, racecraft, and calm under pressure earned attention across local and regional circuits, with coaches and competitors alike remarking on his consistency and natural instinct behind the wheel. What makes him truly exciting, however, is not just his performance today — it's the trajectory he is on.

Ethan is one of the UK’s leading junior karting talents, entering a pivotal stage of his motorsport journey. In 2024, he delivered a standout performance at the Sodi World Series World Finals in Genk, Belgium — the largest global karting championship — finishing as the top-ranked junior driver from the United Kingdom. This world-class result reflects years of discipline, technical development, and relentless commitment. As Ethan progresses through elite-level karting, he offers sponsors early access to a rising international talent, combining proven results with strong digital reach, professional representation, and long-term commercial potential.Technical ability matters. Current Focus

Club100 & UK/European Endurance

Ethan has competed in the highly competitive Club100 Junior Lightweight Southern Championship & Junior Lightweight Southern Championship 2025 , a breeding ground for the UK’s next generation of racing talent. This season is centred on building speed, consistency, and race-craft against some of the strongest young drivers in the country. Ethan did fantastically well in both competitions, racing across the country at all the greatest tracks the United Kingdom has to offer. The season finished with Ethan finishing 2nd place in the overall Northern Championship by a mere 3 points (a championship record for a driver to miss out on top spot!), he also went on to finish 4th place in in the Southern Championship.

Alongside his UK programme, Ethan has raced in UK endurance races, ad in France in 2025. He is actively preparing to enter European endurance karting, including both team endurance and solo long-distance events for 2026. These races attract large international audiences and strong livestream viewership, giving sponsors visibility far beyond the UK karting scene.

It was easy to scout Roman in June 2025 and we are proud that we have been able to secure Roman as a Burwood Motorsports driver !

Some drivers show speed. Others show determination. Very few show both — and from such a young age, currently only 13, Roman is one of those athletes who makes an immediate impression the moment he’s on track. His natural race-craft, resilience under pressure, and unshakable belief in his ability to win have already earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting young prospects in grassroots motorsport. Roman thrives in highly competitive environments. He has won two Brentwood championships, collected multiple podiums, and even made history in 2024 by winning a Senior Super League race as a cadet — the first driver ever to do so.

Roman began karting in 2018 and took the sport seriously from 2021, inspired by his older brother and the family’s deep involvement in racing. Since then, he has built a competitive record that speaks for itself: multiple Brentwood championships, podium consistency, and a standout performance at the Junior Sodi World Series Finals (SWS) 2025 in Spain during July — finishing 7th in the world overall making him the current United Kingdom's number 1 ranked Junior Sodi World Series driver (the second consecutive UK number 1 driver for the UK, with Ethan being the driver in 2024 and now Roman in 2025). It must be noted that Roman won two heats at the SWS 2025 finals meaning that he actually beat all the Junior world competitors at the SWS finals 2025, so this shows that he is capable of being the best in the world at the time, as he beat the eventual winner twice in the 2 different heats he won (showing Roman is up there as being one of the best in the world on his day).

Whether fighting through the pack at local circuits or mastering technical grand-prix layouts abroad, Roman shows exactly the kind of mentality sponsors value — ambition matched with results.

Roman carried on the special 2025 year by being involved in the X-Kart 2025 scholarship competition. Roman entered the scholarship competition with over 150 other hopeful drivers, where various X-Kart experts/scouts scoring criteria's which took into account everything on and off track, lap times, driving ability, how the driver dealt with other drivers on track and responded to flags and interacted with the staff on site. At the end of the Stage 1 scores were tallied and the over 150 drivers were whistled down to the best drivers of 50 drivers for Stage 2 of the process. Making it to stage 2 was a huge achievement in itself and Roman was selected to show off his skills at Whilton Mill on a great day for the drivers and spectators to see 50 of the best drivers which included Roman.

He has also passed his ARKs test singing becoming a Burwood Motorsports driver! “The ARKS Test is the official Motorsport UK safety and racecraft qualification required for young drivers to become licensed kart racers in Britain.”Future Vision — With the Right Support, the Ceiling Is High

Roman is so young and his goals over the next 1–2 years are clear:

• Compete in Club100

• Race in owner-kart championships nationwide

• Work towards transitioning into cars as soon as possible

  *It should be noted with the correct financing and Romans possibilities could pivot to. suit his own and brand needs!

To achieve this he trains daily on a Fanatec racing simulator and plays basketball to stay fit and sharp — developing the physical and mental discipline essential for elite motorsport. Sponsorship is also essential — covering race entries, travel, coaching, equipment and continued development. Roman is fully committed to putting in the work; with the backing of supportive brands, he can accelerate through the motorsport ladder at the pace his talent deserves.
